Our new batch of Betas is off to a great start!
This week we learned A LOT. Beyond routines and classroom jobs, these Betas dove into curriculum, explored new books, jumpstarted handwriting bootcamp, and began to ponder all things earth-related.
The sense of community among these kiddos is already strong. They drafted their Beta Agreements with ease. We learned the benefits of having a Growth Mindset and how important it is to fill others’ buckets. We found time to read “How to Succeed” brochures that were lovingly made by the previous Betas in May.
We delved into our study of Geology by learning about the history of Earth and the evolution of animals and making our own timeline! Next we looked deeper into Earth’s layers and made our own mini models out of clay. We’re beginning next week with a visit from a UT Professor of Geology (aka Ms. Kelly’s husband!) and are SUPER PUMPED to ask him lots of questions!
