Math –
Ms. Andrea’s math group talked about fractions & how we can divide plane shapes equally. We’re getting great at writing them, remembering that the bigger number always goes on the bottom.

Ms. Kelly’s math group dove into the concept of area. We learned that area is the amount of space within a 2D shape. It is measured in square units, such as cm², m², etc. We practiced finding the area of a rectangle two ways- by tiling and by multiplying the length and the width. We also brought out the tiles to create some area models before jumping into independent practice.

The crew has wrapped up their Book Club books for the quarter and our biographies are complete! Woot!
