Our new batch of Betas is off to a great start!
This week we learned A LOT. Beyond routines and classroom jobs, these Betas dove into curriculum, reviewing short vowel sounds, learning to break VCCV words into syllables by splitting the consonants, reviewing the 120 chart, as well as even & odd numbers.
The sense of community among these kiddos is already strong. They drafted their Beta Agreements with ease. We learned the benefits of having a Growth Mindset and how important it is to fill others’ buckets. At the end of the week, each new Beta was given a “How to Succeed” brochure that was lovingly made by a previous Beta in May.
We delved into our study on Ancient Egypt by learning how critical the Nile River was for their civilization. Ancient peoples used the river for drinking, cooking, bathing, fishing, irrigating crops and transportation.
